If you're new to horse racing, then you should probably try to learn about post positions and how they affect the outcome of the race. In celebration of the upcoming Kentucky Derby, I've written this article to help you with your analysis of the 2009 Kentucky Derby Post Positions.
Post positions is important for large races but not so much for small races. Depending upon the location of the starting gate, horses from the inside post position have advantage because they race into the first turn.
And so, when it comes to placing your bets, try to see if the crowd is playing based on post positions or not. If they are not, then putting your hopes to those in the inside post will give you a higher chance of winning.
However, if people are going for inside post positions, then try to go for the strongest thoroughbred outside. It's really a simple law of not going with the flow of the crowd.
This article is dedicated to my friends who are hoping that Pioneerof the Nile or Flying Pegasus will win this year.
